Passion. Excellence. Tradition.

History

My grandfather came to America in 1957 as a Hungarian refugee fleeing the Soviet invasion. Growing up, he would tell me about his life in Hungary and the struggles he overcame. He instilled a pride of our family’s Hungarian roots in me. In high school, I followed in my sister’s footsteps and showed Charolais heifers and in the process, gained a passion for raising cattle.

When my family moved back to central Texas in 2016 and bought a hundred-acre ranch, we began looking for a breed of cattle to run on the property. I was looking up Hungarian Gray cattle and learned that these cattle had made it to the Americas. I purchased my first heifer, Zsa Zsa in the fall of 2018. On December 31st 2018, with the assistance of Hoofstock Genetics, I became the first person to aspirate Hungarian Gray Cattle in the Western Hemisphere.

In 2019, I purchased all six foundation cows and one of the five foundation bulls. In addition, I have straws from the other four foundation bulls. In March of 2020, we welcomed our first calf born on the property, a bull calf named Lugosi, out of Zsa Zsa and Agilulf. Since then, our herd has grown to 32 head, though that number varies depending upon calving and sales.

I am a graduate of Texas A&M and I live in Round Rock, Texas with my wife Liz. I work towards the preservation and propagation of Hungarian Gray cattle in the Western Hemisphere.

I theorize that these cattle can offer the American beef industry a combination of hybrid vigor, disease and parasite resistance, higher utilization of poor forage, and ease of calving.
